Cold Market Approach Assignment

  1. Review the Scripts for approaching a cold market prospect.  
  2. Role-play the approaches with someone who knows you well. Get their feedback by asking them:  
    • Were you comfortable with the dialogue? What tone did you convey to your audience?  
    • Did you come off as too pushy or aggressive? Your goal is natural conversation with a receptive audience.  
    • Did you handle objections using the responses in the script?  
    • Did you move the conversation toward the goal – getting the prospect to let you send them a video?  
    • Did you avoid over-explaining or fall into the Scenario of Disaster? 
  3. Once you are comfortable with these scripts, identify 3 locations where you run into people and might strike up a conversation. Our examples were grocery stores, coffee shops, and gas stations but you might choose a nail salon, golfing range, or local pub.  
  4. How would you approach someone in each setting in a natural way? Develop an ice breaker for each of your scenarios.  
  5. Practice your ice breakers with someone who knows you well until you feel they are natural. Be prepared to discuss and role-play these with your Coach.
