- Review the Scripts for approaching a cold market prospect.
- Role-play the approaches with someone who knows you well. Get their feedback by asking them:
- Were you comfortable with the dialogue? What tone did you convey to your audience?
- Did you come off as too pushy or aggressive? Your goal is natural conversation with a receptive audience.
- Did you handle objections using the responses in the script?
- Did you move the conversation toward the goal – getting the prospect to let you send them a video?
- Did you avoid over-explaining or fall into the Scenario of Disaster?
- Once you are comfortable with these scripts, identify 3 locations where you run into people and might strike up a conversation. Our examples were grocery stores, coffee shops, and gas stations but you might choose a nail salon, golfing range, or local pub.
- How would you approach someone in each setting in a natural way? Develop an ice breaker for each of your scenarios.
- Practice your ice breakers with someone who knows you well until you feel they are natural. Be prepared to discuss and role-play these with your Coach.
