Financial Strength Behind the Products
The financial strength of an insurance company that issues the policy backs all guarantees, including the death benefit. If the insurance company experiences financial distress, it may not be able to meet its obligations.
One way to measure an insurance company’s financial strength is through its financial ratings. These ratings are an independent assessment of an insurer’s ability to meet its long-term obligations and guarantees. Ratings are awarded by independent ratings agencies, which look at a variety of factors: such as liquidity, business strategy, management, and more.
